Dear Members,
As we begin a new year at Brenham Country Club, the Board would like to share a reflection on the progress we made together in 2025 and outline the opportunities and challenges ahead. Your support, participation, and pride in this club continue to guide every decision we make.
Over the past year, we completed several important projects and improvements that strengthened both our facilities and the overall member experience. Among our key accomplishments were:
- Items of significant cost included…
- Painting the Clubhouse & Rebuilding the pro-shop area after discovering structural issues in the building
- Rebuilding the tee area on our driving range to improve practice conditions
- Repaired several water‑collecting areas along the cart paths
- Repaired the clubhouse A/C unit
- Replaced the broken cook stove in the kitchen
- Replaced Clubhouse water heater
- Other notable items include…
- The addition of Sydney Roberts as our new pro has brought a much-needed level of professionalism and energy to our members and club.
- Hosting several tournaments which not only supports our community and students, but they also generated revenue for the club to keep dues from growing more than they have.
- Ensure we have staffed our Restaurant/Bar to have reasonably priced good quality food during our lunch hours.
- Expanding our social calendar with game nights, couples’ scrambles, Sunday breakfasts, and special holiday events
These accomplishments reflect our commitment to maintaining and improving the club while being responsible stewards of its resources.
As we look ahead to 2026, we also recognize that there are important challenges we must address with care and transparency. Among these challenges are:
- Significant repairs needed for our aging septic system, which will require a substantial investment
- The rising cost of chemicals and fertilizers, which has nearly tripled over the last two years and continues to impact course‑maintenance expenses
- The walk‑in cooler condenser is at the end of its life and must be replaced soon. A functioning cooler ensures the kitchen can remain open.
- The ice machine that supplies ice for the golf course is outdated and has become increasingly prone to breakdowns, making it inefficient and unreliable. To ensure uninterrupted service for our golfers and scheduled events, it is essential to replace the ice machine this spring. Delaying the replacement could result in service disruptions that negatively impact both our members and the success of our events.
- Currently our food service does operate at a loss so we encourage our members to come for lunch, once a month would greatly help…
At the same time, we are preparing a thoughtful list of improvements for 2026 that will continue to enhance the condition, quality, reliability, and enjoyment of your club. Planned improvements include:
- Expanding the operating hours of our bar and restaurant to better serve our members
- Transitioning to a more robust club‑management software system that will provide members with an online portal for transparent billing, tee‑time selection, and improved communication
- Additional work on our tee boxes to level years of accumulated divots and restore proper playing surfaces
- Bringing the MGA(Men’s Golf Association) back to life, allowing for more member‑focused tournaments and opportunities for fellowship and friendly competition
To help us prioritize what matters most to you, we invite you to take a brief member survey. Your feedback will guide the Board of Directors as we plan for the year ahead and ensure our decisions reflect the needs and values of our membership. A copy of the survey is attached or
